This is one of my favorite albums released in the past 5 years. Yola has been in the game since 2003 but I hadn't heard of her until Walk Through Fire was released. It's like... Mavis + Aretha + Tina + so much more. Each of these songs has embedded itself into my heart. CHECK THIS OUT, PEOPLE. #YOLO? I don't think I've ever cried so hard at a dang AUTHOR'S NOTE, much less the level of feels I had throughout this whole book. The characters tackle the complexity of teenage friendship, of finding your place within a community, and the ways depression can impact a family. Incredibly well-written, this would be an excellent choice for adults who haven't tried YA. I found The Kitchn online when looking for an easily comprehensible sourdough starter recipe and really enjoyed the writing style as well as the visuals. This cookbook includes more of the same, though I will warn that it contains about as much aesthetic guidance as it does cooking guidance. (Fortunately, as someone who loves to snoop for design ideas, this was great for me!) If you're looking for a straight-up cookbook, try their website or just skip to the latter half of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, which is broken up into homes by size (250-400sq ft; 150-250sq ft; < 150 sq ft) and features really unique structures. There are also tips on how to live a minimalist lifestyle, whether or not you are living in a small home by choice. This is the third in Becky Chambers' Wayfarers series and I enjoyed the heck out of it. Like in her other novels, this book brings up societal issues in a refreshing and interesting way. I listened to this in my car and there were times I had to stop driving because I was either laughing too hard or sobbing. He tells personal stories about his stand-up career, his upbringing, his biracial daughters, etc., as well as lots of reflections on the 2016 election and the aftermath thereof.
